RUFOUS X BLACK-CHINNED HYBRID HUMMINGBIRD near Cranbrook

Update: On Dec 27, 2017 - Sheri L. Williamson (a well-known expert on Hummingbirds) identified this bird as a hybrid Black-chinned X Rufous Hummingbird due to the dark grey chinstrap and presence of rufous in R5. The ID has been corrected from the previous ID of Broad-tailed Hummingbird, to reflect this.

Reported to eBird/Photo: Alan Barnard (photo):

-1 Broad-tailed Hummingbird, present for 4 days leading up to June 26th

-Visiting a feeder along the Ha Ha Creek Road, SE of Cranbrook (off Hwy 3)

---Has not been seen since the 26th
