RBA: MURPHY'S PETREL off Winter Harbour

At 7:40 am on July 30-2026, Simon Thompson and Mark Welford found a Murphy's Petrel offshore from Winter Harbour  (south of Cape Scott), while aboard their cruise ship "The Royal Princess."

RBA: COCOS BOOBY in Victoria - July 27th

On July 27-2026, Sylvie Gareau found and photographed a Cocos Booby perched on rocks near Cordova Bay in Victoria. The observer does not want to share the exact location.

Birders may want to scope rocky areas between Cordova Bay and Ten Mile Point.

RBA: LITTLE STINT at Campbell River - July 21-22nd

At 1:45pm on July 21st, 2026, Jeremy Gatten found an adult Little Stint in the lagoon at Oyster Bay in Campbell River.

RBA: SEDGE WREN in North Pine in the Peace River Region - July 20-26th

At 5:46 am on July 20-2026, Aubrey Parnay found a Sedge Wren in North Pine in the Peace River area of BC.

The bird was singing HERE on 256 Rd.

The bird continues in the same spot on July 26th and has been viewed by multiple observers.

RBA: BLACK PHOEBE in Vancouver - July 14th

At 6:45 am on July 14-2026, Neill Vanhinsberg and Alison Curtis found an immature Black Phoebe at Jericho Park pond.

The bird quickly flew off.

RBA: BLACK PHOEBE in Langley - July 12th

At 6pm on July 12-2026, Dan Tyson found a Black Phoebe at a private farm on 208 St. The bird flew quickly north HERE along 208th St towards Allard Crescent towards Cranberry Fields and was not relocated.

RBA: BLACK PHOEBE in Rosedale - July 11th

At 10 am on July 11-2026, Viktor Vandereyk found a Black Phoebe at Cheam Lake Wetlands.

The bird was on an island clump of bushes in the lake just south of the lookout.

RBA: HAWAIIAN PETREL off Haida Gwaii - July 6th

On July 6-2026, Simon Thompson and John Hanna found and photographed a Hawaiian Petrel traveling ESE from their cruise ship, Royal Caribbean’s “Serenade of The Seas” off Haida Gwaii. The bird was in view for 2 mins before flying off east.

RBA: BRAMBLING in West Vancouver - July 5th

At 4:33pm on July 5-2026, Vivien Leong and Millan See found a male Brambling in breeding plumage feeding on the path near the duck pond at Ambleside Park. It flew off 2 mins later at 4:35 pm to the south.

The bird was searched for at the duck pond, surrounding beaches and area on July 6th, but was not relocated thus far.

RBA: BLACK PHOEBE on Saturna Island - July 4th

On July 4-2026, Tiyani Ren found and photographed a Black Phoebe on the beach at East Point Park on Saturna Island.
