At 2:30pm on December 25-2025, Ethan Moon found a hatch year Taiga Flycatcher at Sunset Beach Park in Vancouver.

The bird continues HERE by the Aquatic centre and last seen HERE in Hornbeam Trees along Beach Ave as of 4:10pm and has been viewed by multiple observers.
The bird continues on Dec 26/25-Jan 21/26 HERE and HERE at Sunset Beach Park and has been viewed by multiple observers. The bird has a circuit and forages at the base of trees as far down as Jervis Street but always returns to the trees HERE by the aquatic centre off the seawall.
This is a first record for BC and Canada.
